Origins and Inspiration

During September we will have an exhibition by local Printmaker Pauline Meade.

"During 25 years as a Printmaker I have produced original editions of 110 etchings,

226 linoprints, over 50 lithographs, monoprints and screenprints, as well as several

artists books and many tests and experiments. Editions vary from 4-30 depending on

the technique and although many have been sold, as I make new work some prints

from past editions remain in storage. I am now offering a selection of these in a

‘studio sale’ hosted by Enjoy Art in Marsden. Prices will reflect the need to make

space in my studio so I can carry on working.

Inspiration comes mainly from the natural environment of landscape, seascape and

plants, with my prints originating from sketches and notes made on location mostly in

Britain but also from visits abroad including the Alps, New Zealand, Nepal, the

Canary Islands and Azores. The exhibition includes some source reference material

to show where and how the artwork was produced.

Pauline Meade brief CV 1994 BA(Hons) 1 st Graphic Arts degree specialising in Printmaking.

From then on developing my own practice alongside technical and teaching work in

print workshops, adult and further education and schools. I currently work from my

home studio in West Yorkshire and regularly exhibit my work which has been

purchased for corporate collections and hospitals as well as many private

individuals. I am an exhibiting member of Leeds Fine Artists and some examples of

my work can be seen in the online members’ gallery."
