Enjoy Art is delighted to welcome the acclaimed collective, the Yorkshire Colourists, for their first exhibition with us this November.
The Yorkshire Colourists are a group of six artists based in and around the moorland landscapes of West Yorkshire. Their work is shaped by the colours, textures, and shifting atmospheres of the places they explore. From rugged crags and winding rivers to expansive moorlands, mountain light, cloud-laden skies, and the quiet geometry of fields and dry-stone walls.
The artists are Catherine Morris, Emma Oughtibridge, David McCallam, Jacky Rawlins, Rosalind Annis and Kevin Threlfall. Each artist brings a vivid, personal response to these landscapes. United by a shared passion yet defined by six distinct voices, the group continues to build a dynamic and growing reputation. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience their individual perspectives side by side, celebrating the rich tapestry of the region and the creative energy it inspires.
"Exhibiting and working together whether on a joint theme or an individual project is inspiring and fosters camaraderie, friendship and a wealth of ideas."
Individually, the artists offer dark brooding moors, tumultuous skies, evocative floating forms, harmonious rolling landscapes, wild and uplifting use of colour together with varying degrees of realism and abstraction in a variety of subjects. Collectively they present a rich body of work that both stimulates and challenges. The exhibition runs from 1st November to 30th November. Our new opening times are Thursday to Saturday (10-3pm). We can also open outside those times by appointment - please get in touch at gallery@enjoyart.co.uk.
